About the Author: Born in Albania in a time of uncertainty and censorship, I took refuge in the pages of old, tattered books that supplied me with everything from fantastic mythology to somber reality. The safe cool space that was my grandfather’s library quickly became my temple, where my dream to become a writer was born. For many years after I moved to New York, the fantastic creatures of my dreams called to me yearning to be written.
